of small town living with the ease and convenience of the city. There
are year round activities for the adventure seekers. Even in the heart
of winter you can visit Mammoth Cave, a moderate temperature all year
round. There you can explore the largest cave system in the world, see
stalactites, stalagmites and ancient fossils.

history of this beautiful state. These rolling hills were in an interesting
position during the Civil War and because of that, there is much that
remains of the architecture and artifacts. In the western area of Kentucky
you have Bowling Green, voted in 2006 as one of the Dozen Distinctive

studious history bluff occupied for a lifetime.
One of the first things that comes to mind with the word Kentucky is
the state’s signature libation, Bourbon. The Bourbon Trail begins at
the heart of distilling country in a quaint town called Bardstown. From
there you can take the fence lined roads to Loretto or Clermont where
you can smell the bourbon in the air, but surprisingly not on people's
breath. Yes, believe it or not, Bourbon County is a dry county and you
cannot purchase alcohol here.
But Kentucky isn’t only about Bourbon and horses. The South has a tradition
of barbeque, each state with its own style, and Kentucky’s is one of
the best. Moonlight Bar-B-Que, in Owensboro, known worldwide for its
tender pork and mouth watering ribs. Owensboro is also home to International
Bar-B-Que competitions. But for those with appetite for something more
avant garde, it is Louisville that is your hot spot. Louisville, where
many travel nursing jobs in Kentucky are located was chosen by Food
& Wine Magazine as a featured city in their series, Food Across America.
