Arizona is one of the most beautiful states in our nation. Many of
our travel nurses remark that they never realized how diverse the
state is. Where else could you ski in the morning and enjoy the pool
and 70-degree weather in the afternoon? Arizona has 5 major regional
areas, Northern, Phoenix & Central AZ, North Central Arizona, Tucson
& Southern Arizona, and Arizona’s West Coast.
Northern Arizona is home of Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, and the Navajo nation. Travel nurses enjoy skiing, hiking, white water rafting, and kayaking while maintaining easy access to Phoenix and the Sonoran desert. With that said, you cannot understate the majesty of the Grand Canyon. The Canyon stretches 180 miles and has popular sites like the South Rim, the North Rim, Phantom Ranch, Havasupai Falls, and Lee’s Ferry.
Arizona’s Phoenix and Central region will dazzle travel nurses who
want it all. Enjoy some of the best golf courses in the country while
taking in the great nightlife of Scottsdale. Sports fans love the
fact they can enjoy the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cardinals,
and the Phoenix Coyotes throughout the year. If that’s not enough,
try Major League Baseball’s spring training "Cactus League"
where many of the National Leagues teams come to kick off the baseball
season. If you are a travel nurse that still needs access to the wilderness
then it is yours. Tonto National Forest offers ample hiking, biking,
and believe it or not boating all within an hours drive!
North Central Arizona offers travel nurses the best of both worlds.
It is a hiker’s and mountain biker’s paradise because of a geographic
gem called the Mogollon Rim. People love the area's waterfalls, canyons,
and bluffs the rim helps form. Sedona is among the most famous parts
of this area sporting 400 foot red rock spires, a world renowned artist
communities, and spas harnessing the metaphysically powers of the
vortexes. Prescott, Camp Verde, Jerome, and Payson are among other
popular towns that travel nurses love visiting.
Tucson and Southern Arizona offers a strong taste of the Wild West’s
history while becoming steeped in the Mexican culture. Visit Tombstone
and the OK Corral, or the old mining town of Bisbee. The heart of
the Sonoran desert surrounds this area and nurses will enjoy the natural
wonders the desert has to offer. The Mexican border is a quick drive
where you will find great shopping, nightlife, and restaurants. However
the biggest secret of this area is Rocky Point, a fishing village
on the Sea of Cortez. That’s right in three hours you can be enjoying
fresh fish and margaritas on Mexico’s west coast.
Arizona’s west coast describes the area along the Colorado River.
Kingman, Parker, and Bullhead City are just a few of the cities offering
travel nursing jobs. Nurses love the great diversity that the Colorado
River provides. They enjoy hot springs, water skiing, hiking, and
other outdoor activities. Nurses living in the northern part of this
area who are feeling lucky often go to Laughlin Nevada while many more take the
extra step and head straight to Las Vegas!!!
