The American Heart Association(AHA) has developed multiple curriculums specifically for the “Lay Rescuer”. These courses are collectively called “Heartsaver” courses. A Lay Rescuer is a person who is not a certified or licensed medical provider that has been trained to provide care to sick and/or injured individuals. These courses are designed to provide information about recognizing illness/injury, how to activate 911/emergency responders, and to provide basic care by individuals in our community or workplace until 911/emergency responders arrive.
The AHA Heartsaver courses are designed for workplace safety training. To ensure quality, Heartsaver courses are delivered by certified Instructors that follow high operational standards, resulting in consistent training for all employees, even across multiple locations.
Heartsaver courses are modular and will be taught to your organization with the specific components required by your regulatory authorities and/or industry. Individuals who complete Heartsaver courses are credentialed with an official American Heart Association card which is valid for two years following the training. These courses include interactive video driven didactic and skills evaluations using manikins and other training equipment.
